Our Kindergarten Team
Tina Clinton
Tina has been lucky enough to teach at Wade Thomas School since 1989. Before that she taught science K-5 at Neil Cummins School after staying home for 12 years to raise her three sons. Prior to having children she taught second grade and a first through third combo class in Southern California. While at Wade Thomas she has been a reading consultant to the Sausalito Unified School District, a BTSA mentor to new teachers, a reading instructor for the Governor’s Reading Institute, a national reading instructor for SRA/McGraw/Hill, a member of the district’s Leadership Committee and was out of the classroom as the district’s reading mentor for two years. She has received two Golden Bell Awards and has been listed in Who’s Who of America’s Teachers. She lives in San Rafael with her husband, whom she met at the age of 15 while growing up in Southern California. They have three grown sons: Rick an emergency room physician, David a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology and Tom a recent graduate from U.C. Davis. In her spare time, Tina enjoys square dancing, hiking, playing her violin, attempting to play beginning bridge and lots of reading. Oh, and her husband wants her to mention golf, her new (and most definitely his) favorite pastime! Tina loves everything about teaching at Wade Thomas: the children, the community and the amazing teachers. She is surrounded by loving children and friends... a perfect job!
Jenny Cavanna
Growing up in San Anselmo was a wonderful experience for me. I went to Brookside, White Hill, and Drake High School. I loved my teachers and they inspired me to do what I am doing today. After graduating from Cal, I earned my teaching credential from Domincan. From there, I taught second grade at St. Isabella and Kindergarten at Brookside School. After becoming a mother, I left teaching for 6 years and when my oldest started kindergarten, the opportunity to return to teaching in my neighborhood, was too good to pass. I now have my dream job. I walk to work and know that your kids will be inspired by what they have learned at Wade Thomas School.
