When can I register for Kindergarten?
To register for Kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year, a child must be five years old on or before November 1, 2012. Parents can register their child for Kindergarten at their School of Residence in the office starting Tuesday, January 23, 2012. School offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Except holidays).
How do I determine what district school my child should attend?
A family’s School of Residence is based on their address. If you are unsure which school is your family’s School of Residence, phone the Ross Valley School District at 415.454.2162 for clarification.
When and where is Kindergarten Orientation?
Kindergarten Orientation is an informational evening designed for parents (no children, please) to learn about the Kindergarten program and meet the teachers, learn about the YES Foundation which funds art, music, and PE, the Day Care program, and receive a general introduction of the school site. You will be able to pick up a Kindergarten registration packet that night. Orientation dates are as follows:
|
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 | 6:30 p.m. |
|
Tuesday, January 17, 2012 | 6:30 p.m. |
|
Thursday, January 12, 2012 | 6:30 p.m. |
|
Wednesday, January 18, 2012 | 6:30 p.m. |
|
Thursday, January 19, 2012 | 6:30 p.m. |
If you are unable to attend the orientation, registration packets can be picked up at your School of Residence after orientation.
When does Kindergarten Registration begin?
Monday, January 23, 2012
How can I register for the District’s Multi-Age Program (MAP)?
Please attend the MAP Orientation to learn more about the program, sign up to take a class tour, and complete the MAP Enrollment Application form and turn it in to the Manor School office from January 23rd through March 1st.
When are student assignments to teachers announced?
Schools will post class assignments the Friday before school starts at 4:00 p.m. Assignments will be posted on at the school office.
Can I tour the school?
Parent tours are available by appointment. Please call your school of residence after the school’s orientation to schedule an appointment.
What if there is no space at my neighborhood school?
In Kindergarten through grade 2, class sizes are at a teacher/student ratio of 20:1. If we have more students and exceed this ratio at the neighborhood school, the District will make arrangements to enroll children at one of the other school locations in the District where there is space. This is called an “overflow.” When a space becomes available at the neighborhood school, parents are notified. At that time, parents can return their child to their School of Residence or remain at the current placement.
What if I do not want my child to attend my neighborhood school?
Parents must still register at their neighborhood school. At the time of registration, parents can request an Intradistrict Attendance Permit form. Application forms are available at each school site. Applications for Intradistrict Attendance Permits are accepted only between February 1 and March 1 for the following school year. Eligibility for a parent’s school of choice for the following year is dependent upon availability of space at the requested site. If you have questions about Intradistrict Attendance Permit, please contact the Superintendent’s Office at 415.451.4060.
How can I find out about Before School / After School care on District Campuses?
Note: While these programs are housed on District school grounds, they are separate entities.
