At Manor School, we believe all students can excel to their fullest potential with the highest quality instructional programs provided through our exceptionally dedicated teachers and staff. We emphasize academics, balanced with character building, in a learning environment where students, school staff and parents feel safe. We practice and promote the values of RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, CARING and TRUST among all individuals in our school community.
Manor Elementary has maintained a small town community feel with an unwavering focus on student learning. Teachers, support staff, and parents work together and actively participate in the education of our students. We take pride in the creative skills of our teachers who deliver instruction that is energizing, student-centered, and individualized when needed. Instruction is aligned with the California Curriculum Standards to ensure students receive the skills and content necessary as they progress through the grades levels. Parents are visible in our classrooms and schools grounds, actively assisting in teaching students.
Manor enrolls 360 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Many of our students live in the immediate neighborhood and walk or bike to school as a family. The welcoming school environment and culture are qualities about Manor that our families enjoy. In addition to the high quality K-5 program offered at the site, some families attend the school because of their interest in district’s Multi-age Program (MAP). Approximately 19% of the student enrollment is of nationalities other than Caucasian. About 12% are considered lower socio-economic level families as defined by the state.
Our school is unique in its focus on learning that is authentic, bringing students and community together for enriched content studies and real life experiences. Manor School is prominent throughout Ross Valley with student-made environmental signs around Lake Lagunitas and along the streets of Fairfax declaring that “…animals live here too.” We recognize that students learn in different ways. We know that learning is strongest when school is partnered with family and community. Through role modeling, we remind our students often of the joy that comes with “learning something new each day.”
