July 17, 2020 - Marin Public Health Recommends Delaying Full Return of In-Classroom Learning
Hello RVSD Staff and Families,
Please see below and attached for an email from Marin County Superintendent of Schools Mary Jane Burke.
An additional link to tune in to Governor Newsom’s Press Conference today at noon at which time he is expected to make an announcement on whether or not schools can reopen for in-person instruction in the fall 2020 is via Channel 7 News. It is anticipated that he will require that all public and private schools in California counties on the state’s monitoring list for rising coronavirus infections be required to close for in-class instruction and meet strict criteria in order to reopen. It is further anticipated that the guidance may represent a marked shift from leaving decisions over closing and reopening school largely in the hands of local school district officials in consultation with county health departments.
As promised, later today I will send links to Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting and next Thursday’s virtual Town Hall meeting.
