July 17, 2020 - RVSD Update 3: 2020-21 Schools Reopening Planning

Good evening RVSD Staff and Families,

As promised, here are the links to our upcoming meetings this next week.  We hope you will join us, but because we know not all of you can, I’ll send an update at the end of next week.

Board of Trustees Meeting: Monday, July 20, 2020 beginning approximately at 7pm.

  • Email Public Comment to: publiccomments@rossvalleyschools.org.  Public Comments address items listed under Closed Session as well as those addressing items that are and are not listed on the Open Session agenda.  Emails received by 2pm on the day of the meeting will be included as an attachment in the Public Comment section of the Agenda.  Emails received after 2pm on the day of the meeting will be included in the following meeting's Public Comment section.

Virtual Town Hall:  Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 5-6pm.

  • Email Questions, Ideas, Solutions, and Input to: communications@rossvalleyschools.org.  Emails received by 8:00 am on Monday, July 20, 2020 will be utilized to help us plan for the town hall.  We are planning time for a Q&A session during the town hall to make every attempt to address emails received after that date/time and while the meeting is in progress.

In addition to the info about RVSD’s upcoming meetings, attached are 1) the joint press release issued earlier this week by MCOE and our County Health Department and two items covered in Governor Newsome’s press conference earlier today 2) CA Department of Public Health Reopening in-Person Learning Framework and 3) CA Department of Public Health COVID-19 Guidance for Schools.  As we continue to receive updated information, we incorporate it into our planning for this upcoming school year.

Creativity, ingenuity, adaptability, patience, perseverance, and flexibility continue to propel us forward into new ways of thinking about and doing school!

I wish you and your family a great weekend, and we look forward to next week.  Until then, let’s all remember that the quickest way to reopen schools is for each of us to do our part: wear a face covering, wash hands, and practice physical distancing.   Let’s all do our part to get the numbers down in Marin so we can return!
