    RVSD Land Acknowledgment

The Ross Valley School District acknowledges that we are located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok people of present-day Marin represented by the Coast Miwok Tribal Council and Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. We honor with gratitude the land itself, and all of its ancestors, present people, and future generations.

We recognize the Coast Miwok people are the original stewards of the place we now call Marin County and have been here since time immemorial.

About Our District

  • Welcome to the Ross Valley School District (RVSD)! Nestled in the heart of beautiful Marin County and less than twenty miles north of the Golden Gate, our District serves the towns of San Anselmo and Fairfax. Currently, transitional kindergarten (TK) through eighth grade enrollment at our five outstanding campuses (four elementary and one middle school) is approximately 1,800 students. Our eighth graders matriculate into the Tamalpais Union High School District (TUHSD), where the majority attend Archie Williams HS in San Anselmo. Performing academically in the top 5% of California’s public school systems, RVSD’s students also excel in art, music, poetry, drama, digital arts and more. Our highly engaged and supportive parents and staff are valued essential partners in everything we do and collectively, as a community, we are committed to CLIMB (Collaborate, Learn, Inspire, Mentor and Believe). Our proud tradition of inspiring unlimited possibilities for RVSD’s students dates back to 1893, when the first Board meeting of the San Anselmo School District was held. We look forward, as a community, to continuing this fine tradition for many decades to come and we warmly welcome you to our Ross Valley schools!

    Service Learning Field Trip

On a chilly February morning, forty-two Hidden Valley 2nd graders and a dozen of their parents spent the morning at Hal Brown Park along the marshy creek. We all met the friendly county park leader who showed us step-by-step, how to plant little plants into the ground.

Hidden Valley's 4th Grade Mall - School is Fun!

In this 21st century learning simulation, business development blends several subjects in a multi-dimensional, engaging way. Students develop a deeper understanding of how the business world works as they develop their own business. Students discuss target market, develop a survey to determine shopper interests, analyze survey data and then design and develop a prototype.
