RVSD Equity Vision Statement - DRAFT
The Ross Valley School District is committed to creating a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning space in which all students experience a sense of belonging and every child is empowered to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
The district pledges to engage in anti-racist actions by reforming organizational structures, policies, curriculum, and instructional practices to build a culturally responsive learning community so that all students have equitable opportunity and feel respected and valued for their individual differences.
In partnership with parents, guardians, and students, RVSD staff is committed to disrupting the systemic racism that exists in our educational setting by listening, reflecting, and prioritizing the voices and needs of our BIPOC students and families. As such we will educate all students so they understand the importance of equity, appreciate the contributions of all types of people in history and today, can recognize bias, and know how to actively work to mitigate bias and promote equity throughout their lives.
