New Student Registration Information

  • TK-8th Grades

    Dear Ross Valley Families,

Welcome to the Ross Valley School District!  We are pleased you have chosen Ross Valley to provide your child/ren’s education.

If you have a child currently attending school in the Ross Valley School District, there is no need to re-register him/her.  Only students who are not currently attending a school in the District are required to register.

See below for more information about registration.

    Office Hours

In-person registration is completed at the student’s school of residence.  If you are unsure which school (Brookside, Hidden Valley, Manor, and Wade Thomas) is your child’s School of Residence, for attendance boundary information click here.  School Offices are open Monday through Friday (except holidays and non-student days) from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

At this time, due to COVID-19, all District schools are closed.  We are working on a way to complete in-person registration that will ensure the health and welfare of our parents and staff.  For now, please be sure your student's online registration is completed.  We'll keep this webpage updated and will do push-out emails to all those students registered on SchoolMint as we have more information.

    Kindergarten Eligibility

For the 2020-21 school year, a child must have his/her 5th birthday on or before September 1, 2020, to be eligible to attend Kindergarten.

Students currently attending Transitional Kindergarten in Ross Valley do not need to re-register.

    Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Eligibility

For the 2020-21 school year, a child must have his/her 5th birthday between September 2 and December 2, 2020, to be eligible to attend Transitional Kindergarten.

Based on the number of registrations verified prior to the COCID-19 outbreak, we anticipate a TK class will be housed on the Brookside campus with the potential of TK/K combination classes at multiple sites.  The TK program will remain under development for the 2020-21 school year, and program implementation (including location/s) will depend on the total number of students who enroll.  Completing registration will give us a way to contact you as we determine program implementation.

New Students to TK – 8th Grades Registration Process

Our registration process includes online as well as hard copy and in-person components.

In continuing our efforts to reduce paper consumption and to be service oriented and efficient, we use SchoolMint, an online enrollment system.  SchoolMint helps to reduce the time parents/guardians spend completing required school forms for one or more children and can be accessed via a computer or smartphone.  For parents/guardians who do not have computer, online, or smartphone access, technology is available at the school sites.  Because not all required registration items can be provided via SchoolMint, some of the registration process will continue to be required via hard copy and in person at the student’s school of residence.  For parents/guardians who do not have printer access, hard copies are available at the school sites.

Student Registration Requirements & Elementary School Enrollment Capacity

To assist the District in enrollment, staffing, and facilities planning, please complete the registration process by March 1 or as soon as possible.  Because many elementary grade levels and schools in the Ross Valley School District are impacted, a student who registers once a school of residence is at capacity, the student will be assigned to another District school where space is available.  Any reassignments will be determined prior to the student’s first day of attendance.  For middle school, because White Hill is our only 6th-8th grades school, students in these grades are not subject to overflow.

For the 2020-21 school year, online Registration began Monday, January 13, 2020, and In-Person Registration began Wednesday, February 5, 2020.  A completed registration packet includes the online Student Registration Forms on SchoolMint and the In-Person Forms and Documentation submitted to the school of residence.  We do not accept registration items via fax, mail, or email.  Please note that only completed registration packets are accepted and each is date/time stamped, which verifies the registration process is finalized.
